  • Michele Dugan Design and Marin Cabinet Studio are thrilled to welcome Lisa Kariotis to our design team.  Lisa is passionate about design, decor and remodeling.  Lisa will collaborate with clients and vendors alike and has a keen eye for quality craftsmanship and beautiful interiors.

  • Today marks the 2 year anniversary of my name change to Michele Dugan Design.  In celebration, I got a dog!

Name suggestions welcome - keep in mind he always wears beats and matches my lime green cowhide!

  • Sometimes great design is functional and fun - thank you San Rafael Fire Department and Go Giants!

  • Experiencing the most amazing coffee (and sparkling water and tea and…) machine ever.  Ordered right from my iPhone, I had a low-fat latte with an add shot that was so good I want to go back daily.  It’s the most exciting kitchen appliance innovation I’ve seen in the last 10 years - dare I call it “revolutionary!?”

Thank you Larry and Judy at Purcell Murray and TopBrewer.

  • Check out the Jan 2014 issue of 3D San Francisco Magazine - It’s fun to share the page with amazing chef Joanne Weir and other great design colleagues!

  • Ho Ho Hoping to give two kids (not mine!) a fun bubble and wave bathroom for Christmas!

  • I’ve been doing lots more fire place inserts lately - are any of your kids asking how Santa or your “Elf on the Shelf” are getting in through the chimney?  What’s your answer? Happy Holidays!

  • Art - Make it Personal!

When possible, I encourage my clients (and hubby) to make art purchases as personal as possible.  This summer we had the pleasure of visiting Louise Bourne at her Maine Coast studio.  Getting to know the artist (her son played baseball in some of the same leagues as hubby), see her amazing work in process, and bringing a slice of hubby’s home back with us truly add to the joy we get seeing the painting every day.  Thanks for such a great experience and amazing work Louise!  www.louisebourne.com

  • Permit your projects! I ran into a realtor friend at the building department last week trying to retroactively permit work her client had done without a permit. Consequences = delayed sales, fees, penalties and possibly having to bring everything up to today’s code. Yikes!

  • Pattern mixing is in! Just like in fashion, no need to be matchey-matchey…choose the best from each line.  #jonathanadler #verawang and #dianevonfurstenberg get in bed together!
